US swine flu deaths 'near 4,000' -- 540 children
(BBC) Of the 5,700 Swine Flu Deaths reported worldwide by 25 October, 4,175 deaths have been reported in the Americas -- up from 636 the week before. Of that number, nearly 4,000 are from within the borders of the United States -- and includes 540 children.
In the past six months about 22 million Americans contracted the virus with some 98,000 hospitalized.
